Great technology leaders provide a compelling vision for the future and guide their teams to execute on that vision. Great leaders inspire their teams to excel. Creating a great R/D lab requires a clear vision for novel technologies with a variety of time frames to impact product. Providing great technology work for a team is absolutely critical. Here are a couple of books that have helped me become a stronger leader. I highly recommend them.

I loved reading Daniel Pink’s book, Drive: The Surprising Truth about What Really Motivates Us. Pink notes mastery of subject matter, having the autonomy to do their work, and having a higher purpose for their work as strong motivators.

Amy Cuddy’s Presence is another inspiring read for leaders. Cuddy tells us how to access our “personal power” to be our strongest, most confident selves.
